Energy Research
Professor Mohanty’s research interests include laser/plasma assisted additive manufacturing, functionally designed nanostructured films, binderless electrodes and solid state electrolytes for Li-ion batteries, organic solar cells, biomaterials and tissue engineering. He directs the Additive Manufacturing Process Laboratory (AMPL), which is funded by DoD, DoE, NSF, Ford Motor Company. Prof. Mohanty is also the founder of Csquared Innovations Inc, a UM start up venture, developing manufacturing platforms for functionally designed multilayer films.
