Professor McRae’s research is at the intersection of industrial organization, energy economics, and development economics. His research interests include the effect of unreliable electricity supply on households and firms, the design of energy subsidies in developing countries, the demand for biofuels, and the behavior of firms in wholesale and retail electricity markets. Professor McRae teaches courses on energy and environmental economics.
