Michigan League, 911 N. University, Hussey Room, Ann Arbor, MI 48109

Hosted by the LSA Student Government.

Topics to be discussed by several highly knowledgeable faculty:

Environmental implications.  What could be a good alternative to pipelines?

Economic impacts of the pipeline vs. not having it.  Alternative energies.

What are the implications for different groups.  Effects of the administration on the issues.  Effects of police intervention on protesters/native communities.

What have students done in the past regarding this?  What should students know about this issue?  What are the rights of protestors?  As student environmental activists, what can we do and how should we protect ourselves?

Cost of the pipeline.  What are ways that it can continue to be fought?

Long term economic implications.  We have so many why do we need more?  What ways will the pipeline benefit American industry?
