Learn the Key Skills Needed to Scale Up Battery Innovations
This four-day course covers the fundamentals of battery cell manufacturing, giving you an understanding of energy storage technologies and teaching you the skills to scale up battery innovations at your organization. Through hands-on sessions in the University of Michigan Battery Lab and instruction from faculty and industry experts, you will gain exposure to the aspects of building a battery from start to finish.
TE3 brings economic scholars together with government and industry practitioners to explore transportation and fuel research for energy and environmental policies that will foster progress toward long-term climate protection and business goals.
Over 120 people attended the conference, including participants from the automotive and energy industries, public agencies and non-profit organizations, as well as from academia. The conference consisted of three sessions of original research presentations, each followed by a discussion. The day concluded with a policy panel and discussion.

2017 Theme: Energy + Emissions Contest
Student Challenge: Create a tangible visualization of the amount of carbon emissions created by the University of Michigan in the year 2016: 641,000 metric tons, or 1,413,161,420 pounds, of carbon dioxide.
