In the presentation, the programmes and research projects being carried out at Research Centre for Gas Innovation (http://www.rcgi.poli.usp.br/) are shown. The Centre has 4 main Programmes: Engineering, Physical Chemistry, Energy Policies and Economics and CO2 Abatement. The Centre is a matching funding initiative involving FAPESP (Sao Paulo State Research Funding Agency) and SHELL. The mission is to develop research and innovation for the sustainable use of natural gas, biogas, hydrogen and management, transport, storage, and usage of CO2 on a global scale. Also, the Centre intends to be a world reference for fundamental and applied research on those topics and contribute to the global sustainability of the 21st century. There are currently 45 research projects.
