Amy Mast has been the Director of Marketing and Communications for the Energy Institute since 2013. She is responsible for the Institute’s external media outreach, in-house reports, web presence, social media, project communications management, and marketing strategy. She also provides guidance for emerging faculty voices in public engagement related to energy.
Previously, Mast spent seven years at the NSF-funded National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, a 400-staff scientific research facility serving over 1000 external users per year; her final position there was as Director of Communications and Federal Relations. She has also worked for Cincinnati-based advertising firm Northlich and in Alaska journalism, where she covered government, crime, and resource extraction for three years. She is an MSU-certified Master Gardener, and will talk with you anytime about using your yard to fight climate change.
