Susan Fancy is the Manager of Programs and Development for the Energy Institute, responsible for symposia and events, program support, and promoting funding opportunities for faculty, students, and the Institute. Susan was instrumental in the development of the Global CO2 Initiative and remains its Program Manager, and is also involved in efforts to better understand how U-M can use its campus as a living laboratory to reduce its emissions profile. She is a key organizer of the Institute’s annual Transportation, Economics, Energy and the Environment Conference. Prior to joining the Institute, Susan was a Ford program manager and systems engineer for battery and fuel cell electric powertrains, and hydrogen internal combustion engine backup power systems. She has a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Michigan, where she started the University’s first solar car team in 1989. Susan is the proprietor of a small organic fruit farm.
