Dr. Matteo Muratori is a senior engineer at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), where he leads projects exploring new technology options and policies to promote the deployment of alternative fuel vehicles and related infrastructure. His interests include studying broad interactions of the transportation sector with other demand and supply sectors, as well as understanding the role of the transportation sector in long-term strategic scenarios. NREL is the United States’ premier laboratory for the research and development of renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency, and is widely regarded as the world’s leading research institute in this field.
A native of Italy, Matteo holds B.S. and M.S. summa cum laude degrees in energy engineering from Politecnico di Milano (a top-ranked university in Italy) and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering, along with a minor degree in statistics, from The Ohio State University.
